(And I can talk about it!)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\" http:\/\/www.themostpowerfularm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.themostpowerfularm.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s for a great cause &#8211; petitioning the Australian Government to help fund research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 394px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Robot Arm View\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/-xVCanJBAP9s\/UUV-9KRqIwI\/AAAAAAAAVCg\/Ek_ztfMvJuU\/s512\/IMG_20130316_191011.jpg\" width=\"384\" height=\"512\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The arm in its natural habitat &#8211; the RoboDino workshop.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I designed and scratch-built this SCARA-type anatomical robot arm for agencies Finch and Havas, for use in their appeal campaign.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stands approximately 350mm tall, with a reach of about 500mm.<\/li>\n<li>Built from OpenBeam extrusion and laser-cut bamboo.<\/li>\n<li>Hardware control by an Arduino running grbl with a grblShield v4, and a Micro Maestro servo controller<\/li>\n<li>Software control by custom software to handle inverse kinematics, font rendering, sequencing<\/li>\n<li>Queuing service to reliably sequence and write names from campaign site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The robot arm can draw more than just text, see?<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B-EFDt3eXv4<\/p>\n<p>Each short segment in the<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hilbert_curve\"> Hilbert Curve<\/a> is approximately 1.2mm long!
